"Yangtse" (长江)- name and meaning
The Yangtze (Yangtsekiang or Yangtze - meaning: 'Long River') is the longest river in China.
With 6,380 kilometers, of which 2,800 kilometers are navigable, it is also the longest river in Asia. Likewise, this is the third longest river in the world, after the Nile and the Amazon, but it is the longest river that flows through only one country. Its source, which lies between Qinghai Province and Nagqu (Tibet), has the highest source of all other major rivers, at more than 5,000 meters above sea level.
